For me, the value of travel comes from observing other people going about their lives in ways that are different than my own. Sometimes it's the glimpses into these "other" lives that help explain my own. Here are some of the people I saw, from guides to shopkeepers.

On the child of Apollo, the sleek sable crow;

Or a wee loaf of bread that the crow may live."
Neither monster nor sinner, I'm just a tax-paying homosexual working hard for his American dream, and speaking out until I have the same rights as my brother.

I showed this to my husband and he exclaimed he took a picture with the same lil' lady in pic #2. Sure, enough, I saw his picture and it's her.
He just got back from Peru a few weeks ago and loved it.
